I don't think about the east coast being a destination of desire for people in the States much, although there have been plenty of people here that say, "ahh Vermont... I've ALWAYS wanted to go there". I hope you get the chance to see these European places soon, and if you do, choose Icelandair so I can see you!

Plo- I had no idea that guy ECShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03980638224399713624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11802256.post-1160018725954779182006-10-05T05:25:00.000+02:002006-10-05T05:25:00.000+02:00I just have to say: The last photo you posted (of ...I just have to say: The last photo you posted (of a boat) was taken by "philg", the person whose photo articles and online galleries inspired me to buy a manual camera and learn how to use it. He used to contribute to a site called photo.net.

It turns out he has a very interesting life and website (example: he owns airplanes!). check him out at:
http://philip.greenspun.com/Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00424292204738974444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11802256.post-1159926480398689712006-10-04T03:48:00.000+02:002006-10-04T03:48:00.000+02:00I hear you. The trippy thing about being on the West Coast is interacting with people who have never been to the Northeast and cannot wait for the day when they get to go to Boston and New York and see all the things they learned about in school. It's all relative I suppose. The Lone Coyotehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07718579151410824297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11802256.post-1159796877858733642006-10-02T15:47:00.000+02:002006-10-02T15:47:00.000+02:00cK- I absolutely agree that it's harder to strip a...cK- I absolutely agree that it's harder to strip away the layers of history on a landscape, but it's something I've been able to do as long as I can remember. I grew up riding horses in the woods of Vermont, and at times when it was just the sound of the animals and birds rustling in the woods, the horse's muted hoofbeats, and my own breathing, it could have easily been 300 years ago. They exist in fact, yes, but in a strange way they seem to me almost more distinct and pinned to a time than, say, a portrait or building.

Buildings have clear physical addresses, and styles of interior architecture and clothing are reproduced in historical villages, movies, festivalscKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05361765660743618975noreply@blogger.com
